Terms of Use
The conditions that apply when you use your eID and the connected services of the Digital Identity Platform.

Eligibility
An eID is issued to natural persons registered in the Civil Registry of Sint Maarten, and to authorised representatives of registered organisations.
Your responsibilities
Keep your credentials and second authentication factor private; never share them with anyone, including government staff.
Report a lost device or suspected misuse to the eID support desk immediately so your identity can be suspended.
Provide accurate information during enrolment and keep your contact details current.
Electronic signatures
Signatures created with your eID are attributable to you and are intended to carry the same legal effect as a handwritten signature where law permits.
Each signature event is logged with evidence of the identity, method and time of signing.
Acceptable use
The platform may only be used for lawful interactions with connected services.
Attempting to bypass security controls, impersonate another person, or probe the platform without authorisation may lead to suspension and prosecution.
Relying parties
Connected systems must complete registration, request only the attributes they need, and pass conformance testing before go-live.
Misuse of citizen attributes may result in immediate revocation of client credentials.
Availability and changes
Services may be temporarily unavailable for planned maintenance or security response.
These terms may be updated; material changes will be announced on the platform before taking effect.
